•	Knowledge of telemedicine and individual state regulations related to nursing practice preferred

The Sr. Operations Director of the eICU program is responsible for overall operational, financial, quality and service performance in the various markets/locations. In addition, the Sr. Operations Director will play a leadership role in creating and executing a strategic plan and identifying and 
implementing business development strategies to promote growth, improve quality and system performance. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Clinical Operations, the incumbent will have support and autonomy to handle current challenges, and to help recruit and grow the practices.

Responsibilities for Senior Operations Director to eICU

•	Demonstrate a depth of knowledge and skill in the area of clinical practice and demonstrates leadership qualities in support of the nursing staff and departmental goals. 
•	Exhibit excellent communication skills accompanied by the ability to analyze and present data to influence behavior, stimulate innovation, promote best practices, and drive change. 
•	Foster and support change and innovation, with an ability to delegate yet maintain overall control and to set high standards. 
•	Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, policy development, and priority setting for the eICU program; develop short and long-term goals and objectives for the department which are in alignment with system goals. 
•	Provide immediate supervision for nursing and operations staff and assigns activities based upon competencies of staff and patient needs. 
•	Act as a clinical resource and serves as a clinical role model for others. 
•	Direct and supervise assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. 
•	Make recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. 
•	Delegate responsibility to others with an understanding of their role, knowledge and capabilities. 
•	Facilitate staffing, and coordination of unit's activities. 
•	Respond to routine, urgent and emergent problems appropriately by demonstrating effective decision-making and provides follow-up to ensure problem resolution. 
•	Participate in the assessment of staff, identifies levels of performance, and insures confidentiality. 
•	Develop positive, effective working relationships with nursing staff, physicians, and support staff within the unit in order to create an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment 
•	Encourage development, provides support, guidance, and participation in developing department objectives, policies and procedures. 
•	Work collaboratively with Medical director on physician relations, quality and departmental goals 
•	Work with local leadership via the Critical Care Enterprise Committee to create system wide clinical standardization and nurse competencies 
•	Develop and manages the budgets for the eICU program. 
•	Establish and maintain an effective nurse care delivery system that promotes accountability, culture of safety and best practice. Fosters an environment to promote the nurses' contribution in a shared decision model. 
•	Assess and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness to support continuing performance improvement and cost reduction/avoidance. Assures department delivers quality services in accordance with policies, procedures, and professional standards. 
•	Reports any deviation of normal operations, breaches in quality of care or situations that require escalated attention to VP of Clinical Operations and/or designee and eICU Medical Director and/or designee. 
•	Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment: 
•	Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external). 
•	Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed. 
•	Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for Senior Operations Director to eICU

•	Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or equivalent from an accredited college or university. 
•	Master's degree with business focus or health care administration preferred. 
•	A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a healthcare environment. 
•	Ability to conceptualize, develop, and affect quality patient care services; effective leadership/management skills; and commitment to continuous quality improvement. 
•	Experience in strategic planning and business development preferred. 
•	Currently licensed as a registered nurse
•	Certification in specialty areas, i.e. critical care, nursing administration. 
•	Ability to effectively utilize a variety of computerized software applications such as eCaremanager, Kronos, Ansos, excel spreadsheet, word processing, databases and software packages required.
