OUR STORY

Established in 1974, Burnett Personnel Services was founded by Sue Burnett with just five employees. Using her car as collateral and a $10,000 loan for the start-up, she had created a profitable company by the end of the first year. Today Burnett Specialists boasts an outstanding portfolio of 9 offices in 6 major Texas cities, including Houston, The Woodlands, El Paso, San Antonio, Austin, and Dallas. In Dallas, we operate as Choice Specialists.

Burnett has steadily grown into a nationally certified woman-owned business and the second largest employee-owned staffing and recruiting agency in the U.S. Being an employee-owned company gives us an edge over our competitors because each employee has an “owner mentality.” Our candidates and client employers work with an employee-owner of the company through every step of the process.

Over the years, Burnett has won more awards than any other staffing or placement service in Texas. In 2000, Sue Burnett, along with the Houston Business Journal, founded the “Best Places to Work” Awards Program and our company has continued as the main sponsor of the event since its inception.  The Better Business Bureau has honored the company five times with the Pinnacle Award of Excellence. Earning national recognition, Burnett has been listed by Forbes as one of the Top Professional Recruitment Firms and Top Temporary Staffing Agencies in the U.S. We are listed as one of the Best Staffing Firms to Work With in North America by Staffing Industry Analysts.
